Indian Government Launches a New Weather Forecast Application, “MAUSAM”
Mausam is the new weather forecast application launched by the Government of India. It is developed in collaboration between the Indian Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics(ICRISAT), the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology(IITM), Pune, and the India Meteorological Department(IMD). ..
The Mr. Harsh Vardhan tweeted, “MAUSAM app is dedicated to general public and designed to communicate weather information & forecasts in a simple manner with no technical jargon. Users can access weather forecasts, radar images & warnings of impeding weather events”
The app is said to be a great way to stay up-to-date on the weather in your area. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices, and it can be downloaded from Google Play Store or the App Store. The app will provide current weather information, including the temperature, humidity, wind speed, and direction for 200 cities.
The new weather app will give you nowcasts, three-hourly warnings for local weather, as well as warnings about severe weather. This information will be included in the warning. ..
The app will provide weather forecasts for the next seven days for around 450 cities in India. Along with these, you will get the color-coded alerts(red, yellow, and orange) for all the districts twice a day for up to five days. This will help to warn people about potential dangers and help them plan their outings accordingly. ..
The UI of the weather app is not one of the best, it is very dull compared to other popular weather apps. So yes, there is a lot of work to be done on the app. We hope that it gets better with updates.
